children who are able to communicate ideas and ask questions using appropriate geographical language. Children will be taught to communicate their ideas through accurate map work and the use of diagrams and text. Our children are encouraged to engage in geographical debate.

children who present the results of their geographical investigations in creative and engaging ways 

Citizenship

children who recognise that geography is about people and their impact on places.This will include work around ecological awareness.

Compassion

children who display empathy for the peoples they encounter during their geographical studies. Our children will be encouraged to engage with 'the big geographical issues' of out time.

Cultural Awareness

children who have a sound knowledge of issues which effect people around the world. Teachers will use geography sessions to 'bring the world into the classroom' and allow children to engage with new cultures. 

Craftsmanship

children who show pride in their work (e.g. accurate use of maps / diagrams / non-fiction features when writing texts).
