Safeguarding children is everyone's business

Whilst local authorities play a lead role, safeguarding children and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play.

If any person has any concerns about the welfare of a child or a family, then they should contact one of the school safeguarding leads or Lincolnshire Children's Services (01522 782111).   Alternatively, in the case of an emergency dial 999 for the Police.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined for the purposes of this guidance as:

• protecting children from maltreatment;
• preventing impairment of children's health or development;
• ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
• taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

 

Any adult who witnesses abuse, receives a disclosure of abuse or suspects abuse may have occurred must report it as soon as possible to the designated Safeguarding Leads: Mr Taylor or Mr Marwood on 01673 828323.

 

Outside school hours you can also contact Lincolnshire Customer Service Centre on 01522 782111.  Anyone can make a referral.  Safeguarding is everyone's business.
