children who work collaboratively on historical projects and investigations.

children who are able to present the results of their historical investigations in creative ways using a range of media and technological aids. 

Citizenship

children who understand that historical issues are still important and have repercussions for people today (e.g. holocaust, the slave trade).

Compassion

children who able to see both sides of a historical debate and who can empathise with people from the past, commenting on their motivations etc.

Cultural Awareness

children who have an awareness of historical time periods and a clear chronological 'overview' of historical periods from a range of countries / cultures. Our children are taught about key figures from the past and their impact on the wider culture.

Craftsmanship

children who show pride in crafting historical arguments during debate etc.. Our children are taught the skills required to present work to a high standard. Teachers will teach research skills to ensure that children understand that some sources of information can be flawed.
